About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and is excited to wear multiple hats. You will lead Emergi’s financial management, internal operations, HR systems, and grants administration, helping shape the backbone of our growing organization. As part of the leadership team, you will work in a vibrant and fast-paced environment alongside our inspiring women drivers, and international partners to chart our path forward. Based in our centrally located office in Monrovia, you will enjoy the excitement of a startup making real change. Key Responsibilities:

  1. Finance & Compliance
  • Lead all financial planning, budgeting, and reporting activities.
  • Develop and enforce financial policies and procedures.
  • Manage cash flow, account reconciliations, and compliance with tax obligations.
  • Generate quarterly financial statements and ensure audit readiness.
  1. Administration & Systems
  • Design and manage administrative workflows and office systems.
  • Ensure organized recordkeeping, document management, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead procurement processes and vendor management.
  • Design scalable administrative systems that can be adapted and replicated across future operational hubs.
  1. Human Resource Management (HRM)
  • Support recruitment, onboarding, and HR record-keeping
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives
  • Assist with developing and updating HR policies and driver empowerment programs in line with national labor laws.
  1. Customer Support & Communications
  • Supervise customer service systems and staff responsiveness.
  • Lead internal communication workflows and contribute to external communication strategies.
  • Support content creation for marketing, reporting, and visibility.

  1. Grants and Projects Administration
  • Coordinate administrative support for grant-funded projects.
  • Track grant deliverables, prepare supporting documents
  • Assist in project monitoring, reporting, and stakeholder coordination

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in administration and finance.
  • Proficiency with financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, Wave) and cloud-based platforms (e.g., Google Workspace).
  • Demonstrated experience with budget preparation, bookkeeping, and financial reporting and compliance.
  • Experience working in a start-up, NGO, or social enterprise is a plus.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Experience with bookkeeping and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks).
  • Financial management and strong attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with HR basics and customer support systems.
  • Strong analytical organizational and leadership skills.
  • High level of integrity, reliability, problem-solving ability and a “go-getter” attitude.
  • A creative, proactive, and solutions-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Knowledge of social media and email marketing tools.
  • Willingness to learn, experiment, and adapt in a fast-changing environment.
  • Comfort with digital tools and tech-enabled workflows.

What We Offer:

  • A starting salary of $500 gross/month with an increase to $800 gross after a successful 6-month performance review.
