Closing 2020 with good news!

This year has been challenging for many reasons, but to add to it, our team also took on a crowdfunding campaign with great determination. The goal was to get 10.000 euros in contribution, in order to introduce three electric kekehs and be inclusive to female drivers in the sector. We were not only successful in achieving our target through more than 200 supporters but we were able to attract a lot of love and affirmation from various people and organisations. We are very grateful to the support from: The Bright Continent, Samuel Levie, SoCreatie, LNBCC, SPARK, WiRE Liberia, the Liberian Observer, MNewsAfrica, Visitliberia.net and the Onepercentclub.

We would also like to thank our ‘magic helpers’ who went above and beyond to support us: Christian Steinbarth, Erik Parigger, Ramiro Gomes Monteiro, Peter Harrington, Diederik Wawoe, Simon van Melick and Blair Glencorse.

We are so happy that so many people were readily willing to join the energy revolution with us! This, of course, would not have been possible if not for our very dedicated team. Team Emergi is small but very international!

Saida Wolff, London (UK):
"Our team is based all over the world and has very different skill sets - I am amazed how a joint vision was translated into sth tangible despite the geographical distance. I am looking forward to reaching further goals together!"
Willie Y. McGill, Monrovia (Liberia):
"Participating in the campaign was a great experience and an opportunity. The knowledge, skills, and approaches learned give me focus, courage, and self motivation to the possibilities of making a  vision a reality as an entrepreneur".

We also look back at all the content that we created around the campaigns. These days crowdfunding campaigns are aplenty and you might feel weary when you read about another crowdfunding campaign in your inbox. But with the beautifully designed rewards and inspiring writings we were still able to captivate the imagination of our supporters. We not only had writings from within our team, but we had the pleasure of contributions from guest writers - Vamba Sherif and Magnus M. Collins. We also had inspirational reflections about entrepreneurship and renewable energy through interviews from Youngor T. Flomo, Vannette Tolbert and Mahmud Johnson

Tim Kreukniet, Utrecht (NL):
“The artwork and the blogposts were great material to send around. All in all, I am amazed by the positive responses from the donors and the dedication of the team"
Elvis T. Thomas, Monrovia (Liberia):
“Being a part of the campaign was a great experience for me - it was a privilege to work such brilliant minds and ideas. The campaign did not just keep us at the edges of our seats while it lasted, it also created a lot of opportunities for us and we are grateful for that. Thanks to everyone who supported us.”

While the success of our campaign might look effortless on the surface, it was anything but! A lot of hard work and planning went into the preparation far before and during the campaign. Logistics like the designs for the rewards, the social media strategy, the individual messaging and various other things came into place to make this a success. We recommend anyone following in our footsteps not to take this lightly!

Richard van Hoolwerff, Den Haag (NL):
"I was really surprised by the dynamics of the campaign, we planned a lot and had a well-prepared strategy. However, once it started, the campaign got a life of its own, new opportunities arose, new ideas came up. We generated a lot of attention that we had to quickly respond to integrate them into the campaign. I am grateful for all the positive support that we received and the possibilities we now have for a successful pilot of our e-kekeh launch in Liberia."
Eline Terneussen, Dar es Salaam (Tanzania):
“After almost a year of preparations it was amazing to see the campaign to live! Our team is diverse and this resulted in impromptu additions and creative solutions to keep the campaign moving. Much appreciation to the whole team and of course the many people who are supporting the EV revolution.”

Now team Emergi starts a life after the campaign and it is nothing but exciting. We look forward to giving you many more updates in the coming months!
